SSS Monday Challenge - Stamp it on

The SSS Monday Challenge for this week is 'Stamp it on'.

I have been on holiday for two weeks and while we had a fabulous time it is great to be back creating.

I have used three stamps in the background including a raindrop stamp, a wildflower stamp and a word stamp. I have used Altenew stamps in the the foliage.
I love this tiny dancer from Tim Holtz. I never got to wear a tutu or tulle so feel very deprived of that 'girly' experience.

My layers are:
-Kaiser Craft Designer Paper
-Gesso
-Distress Inks
-splatters and sprinkles
-paste through a stencil
-Tim Holtz Paper Dolls and Words
-Sizzix Tim Holtz  Thinlits Dies - Garden Greens
-Altenew  - Beautiful day Stamps and dies
- stamps
-Whale of a punch corner
-enamel dots
-purchased flowers and leaves
-Art stones
-Balsa wood (behind dancer)

Thank you for stopping by:)

SSS Monday Challenge - Add A Little Sparkle

I had a little free time to spend playing this weekend. My go-to challenge, SSS Monday Challenge - Add a Little Sparkle, the pieces from the designers are so inspirational.

I had no idea what I wanted to do so decided to choose colours and make a start. Once I had laid down background colours corrugated board spoke to me (not really :)). As I was assembling the piece I was listening, and occasionally watching, a documentary on the Thai Cave rescue. I had seen odd snippets on the news but had not fully grasped the intricacies and dangers of the rescue. The documentary gave an in-depth view of the event. While the outcome was unbelievable after such a challenging ordeal, I couldn't help feeling a sense of awe for bravery and dedication of the rescuers and deep sadness for the loss of Former Thai navy seal Saman Gunan.

As my mind followed the rescue so did my art. A few thoughts influenced the piece. Darkness - just how the children endured that, coming into the sunshine for the first time and oxygen - how depleted it was in the cavity where they found the group, and the number of tanks they had to deposit for each rescue.

The sparkle is in the bubbles, added glitter and Wink of Stella on the 'FREE'.

The main items used were Gesso, Tim Holtz inks and phrases.

Thanks for stopping by.

SSS Monday Challenge - Let's Doodle

Well, I managed to get my fingers inky again this week for the SSS Monday Challenge - Let's Doodle.

I loved the idea of the doodling, but all I could think about was these scribble flowers from two different companies. They look like doodling to me. My doodle contribution was scribbling around painted dots and flower centres, and paint doodling as I made up the four pieces of background after starting with plain Bazzill in various greens.

I love seeing the art in a frame. I have many frames with the glass taken out and replaced with matt board (offcuts purchased from my local framer for $8 / large bag). I place two or three pieces of sticky back velcro on the frame and the piece of art. I can change the art on the wall whenever a new piece is added to the collection.
For this challenge I wanted a piece with irregular edges, so I gessoed a piece of matt board, added a hint of colour, then started layering. I love the Tim Holtz film strip die and the french wine label sent to me several years ago.

Distress inks
Golden Fluid acrylics
MFT Scribble flowers (large)
Small scribble flowers (maker unknown)
Whale of a punch decorative corners
Tim Holtz stencil

SSS A Trio Of Something

For this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge the theme is a 'Trio of Something'.
My immediate thought was pears! I love the fact that one spoken word has three different meanings and spellings. So here we have three pears and three different words.

I stamped the pears to give an outline for adding DP pieces. I used soft gel medium to glue them down. When it was dry I stamped the pear again.

The pear stamp is Stampers Anonymous.
Liquitex Gesso
Distress inks and Golden fluid acrylics
Various background stamps and stencils.
